HAPI work — When the Office Goes Pet-Friendly: Portuguese Study Investigates Benefits

Vítor Hugo Silva, researcher at the Behaviour and Social Change in Context (BS2C) laboratory at HEI-LAb, obtained funding approval for the project "Human-Animal Interaction in the Workplace: Assessing Impacts and Guidelines for Pet-Friendly Policies" through the Call for Exploratory Research Projects in All Scientific Domains 2024 (PEX) of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). This project seeks to understand how the presence of companion animals at work influences the well-being of workers and the animals themselves, evaluating the benefits of animal-friendly policies and proposing guidelines to create workplace environments that promote well-being.

HAPI work — Quando o escritório é pet-friendly: estudo português investiga benefícios

Vítor Hugo Silva, investigador do laboratório Behavior and Social Change in Context (BS2C) do HEI-LAb, obteve aprovação de financiamento para o projeto “Interação Humano-Animal no Ambiente de Trabalho: Avaliação dos Impactos e Diretrizes para Políticas Pet-Friendly" através do Concurso para Projetos de Investigação de caráter Exploratório em Todos os Domínios Científicos 2024 (PEX) da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). Este projeto procura compreender como a presença de animais de companhia no trabalho influencia o bem-estar dos trabalhadores e dos próprios animais, avaliando os benefícios de políticas favoráveis à presença de animais e propondo orientações para tornar os locais de trabalho ambientes promotores de bem-estar.

Inês Tavares, a researcher from the Mental Health and Clinical Sciences Lab at HEI-Lab, was awarded with funding for an innovative research project focused on behavioral and psychophysiological markers and effects of interpersonal emotional regulation in couples. The funding, totalling 60.000€, is awarded in the context of FCT's recent call for Exploratory projects (PEX), being one of 12 projects funded nationally in the field of Psychology. Inês Tavares, investigadora do Laboratório de Saúde Mental e Ciências Clínicas do HEI-Lab, recebeu financiamento para um projeto de investigação inovador focado em marcadores comportamentais e psicofisiológicos e efeitos da regulação emocional interpessoal em casais. O financiamento, no valor total de 60.000€, é atribuído no âmbito do recente concurso da FCT para Projetos Exploratórios (PEX), sendo um dos 12 projetos financiados a nível nacional na área da Psicologia. Daniela Fidalgo, Francisca Teixeira, Matilde Sousa and Tiago Miguel Pinto awarded ITC Conference Grants to attend major international congress

Daniela Fidalgo, Francisca Teixeira, and Matilde Sousa — second-year PhD students in Clinical Psychology, Cognitive-Behavioural Orientation at Lusófona University — along with researcher Tiago Miguel Pinto, Assistant Professor at Lusófona University and member of CUP, have been awarded the ITC Conference Grant by the Management Committee of the COST Action Maternal Perinatal Stress and Adverse Outcomes in the Offspring: Maximising infants’ development (TREASURE) CA22114.

This grant supports the dissemination of research at the SRIP 45th Annual Conference, one of the most prominent international congresses in the field of perinatal health.
The award reflects the international recognition of the scientific merit and quality of the research developed by HEI-Lab researchers.

Their participation in this event represents a valuable opportunity for advanced training, knowledge exchange, and collaboration with leading international researchers.

As estudantes do 2.º ano do Doutoramento em Psicologia Clínica, Orientação Cognitivo-Comportamental, da Universidade Lusófona - Daniela Fidalgo, Francisca Teixeira e Matilde Sousa - e o investigador Tiago Miguel Pinto - Professor Auxiliar da Universidade Lusófona, CUP -, foram distinguidos com a bolsa ITC Conference Grant, atribuída pelo Management Committee da COST Action Maternal Perinatal Stress and Adverse Outcomes in the Offspring: Maximising infants’ development (TREASURE) CA22114.
