Across the world, high-impact weather events are increasing in frequency and severity as a result of climate change. Early Warning Systems can help to limit the harm that these events cause by informing public audiences about potential high-impact events and the steps that might be taken to reduce individual risk.

Tânia Gaspar and Jorge Oliveira, researchers at the WIN Laboratory of HEI-Lab, organised the "III Psychogerontology Conference: Adding Life to Years."

The conference aimed to bring together experts in gerontology, psychology, local authorities, and businesses to discuss joint solutions between academia, social organisations, and municipalities, fostering a better quality of life in ageing.

Professors from Universidade Lusófona, Ana Loureiro, Sílvia Luís, and Samuel Domingos, attended the XVII Environmental Psychology Congress (PSICAMB), which took place at the University of Málaga from 3rd to 6th February 2025. The event brought together over 300 authors from 11 countries, presenting the findings of 165 research studies.

This research has provided a better understanding of how adults interact with ICT and highlights dysfunctional processes that may be relevant for assessing technostress and informing mental health interventions. Pedro J. Rosa and Patrícia Pascoal, researchers at HEI-Lab, have published an article titled “Uncovering Latent Profiles of ICT Users and Its Relation to Technostress and Mental Health in an Adult Sample: Contributions of a Transdiagnostic Approach”.

Diogo Carreiras, a researcher at the Mental Health and Clinical Sciences Laboratory of HEI-Lab, has published an article titled “Efficacy and cost-effectiveness of an ACT and compassion-based intervention for women with breast cancer: Study protocol of two randomized controlled trials” in the Trials Journal - BioMed Central.

On 29 January, the HEI-Lab – Digital Human-Environment Interaction Lab welcomed the evaluation panel from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as part of the research unit assessment process.
