Cross-seeding

This call is intended to stimulate the development of research activities and excellence among HEI-Lab researchers, promoting research activities in and between research labs, focusing on the transdisciplinary character of the proposals. It is intended to fund innovative projects that may result in knowledge transfer among researchers from different research labs and in larger-scale projects to be submitted for funding by other entities. 

Young Seeding

Call for innovative approaches, potential for significant social impact, feasibility of the proposed methodology, probability to be later funded by external competitive calls, and applicant's potential to become a leader in the field. Also, proposals need to engage stakeholders from the community, promoting evidence-based practices.

Citizen Science

In the search for a more inclusive and participatory approach to research and development research and development, HEI-Lab is now promoting an innovative initiative that unites the principles of citizen science with the concept of participatory budgeting. The aim is to actively involve citizens in decision-making related to projects of interest to the community. We thus propose an approach centered on the emotional, social and mental well-being of the community, from which projects of scientific relevance and high social impact can emerge.

Social Impact

These projects aim at creating impact and change outside academia, regardless of other actions such as dissemination, communications, citations, and other traditional initiatives of disclosing academic activities and results. These projects will focus on research actions leading to tangible social improvements and/or to results from where further research can be developed aiming for the benefit of society. 

HEI 5.0

With a particular focus on investigating the use and impact of AI in the context of human environment interaction, namely, on how AI advances and democratization may lead to new means of assessing, diagnosing, and intervention on human behaviour.
