Shivani Atul Mansuklal, a doctoral student at EPCV and HEI-Lab and editor of the Journal of European Psychology Students (JEPS), has published a blog post titled “Beyond Grades and Deadlines: The Power of Christmas Cards in Academia” on EFPSA’s Research Pulse, part of the European Federation of Psychology Students’ Associations (EFPSA).
In this blog post, Shivani shows how one of the Christmas traditions—the exchange of Christmas cards—can serve as a symbol of recognition and gratitude within the academic context. Drawing on research in the field of psychology, she explores how interpersonal recognition and expressions of gratitude can positively shape student–teacher relationships and how they have the potential to improve the well-being of students, staff, and faculty.
If you feel inspired by this blog post, why not brighten the day of a colleague, staff member, or professor with a small Christmas card and a message of gratitude this year?
