Sílvia Luís, a researcher at HEI-Lab's "Behavior and Social Change in Context" Laboratory, has been appointed Leader of Working Group 1 (Mental Health Impacts of Climate Change) within the COST Action CliMent (CA23113 - Climate Change Impacts on Mental Health in Europe).
CliMent aims to explore how climate change affects mental health, develop effective coping strategies, and implement short-term behavioral interventions. The initiative consists of four working groups (WGs) tasked with conducting systematic reviews, engaging in research activities, and organizing capacity-building and knowledge dissemination initiatives.
Working Group 1, led by Sílvia Luís, will focus on identifying contextual characteristics related to how countries address climate change, along with sociodemographic, psychosocial, and individual factors influencing mental health outcomes. The team will also work on developing and validating quantitative measures to assess these impacts comprehensively.
HEI-Lab is proud to support this critical international effort to better understand and address the mental health challenges posed by climate change.
