On 29 January, the HEI-Lab – Digital Human-Environment Interaction Lab welcomed the evaluation panel from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as part of the research unit assessment process.
Conducted by a group of independent experts, the evaluation aimed to assess the quality of the research carried out at HEI-Lab, as well as its scientific, technological, and social impact. During the visit, HEI-Lab presented its research hubs in Porto and Lisbon and provided an overview of its main research areas. Researchers also engaged in discussions with the panel, offering insights into the lab’s challenges, strategies, and objectives, as well as the relevance and sustainability of its ongoing activities.
HEI-Lab has been establishing itself as a dynamic space for interdisciplinary collaboration, where innovation and the development of technological solutions applied to human behaviour go hand in hand with social responsibility. This visit provided an opportunity to showcase its role in fostering and creating technologically innovative solutions to address contemporary societal challenges.
