Equipa de investigadores da área da Neuropsicologia e Neurociências do HEI-Lab participa em Simpósio e anuncia parceria com a Unidade Local de Saúde Tâmega e Sousa

Uma equipa de investigadores da área da Neuropsicologia e Neurociências do HEI-Lab (Andreia Geraldo, Carlos Campos, Rita Pasion e Tiago Paiva) participou no Simpósio “O contributo da neuropsicologia enquanto meio complementar de diagnóstico nas síndromes demenciais”, organizado pela Dr.ª Helena Moreira, Neuropsicóloga na Unidade Local de Saúde Tâmega e Sousa.

No âmbito deste evento foi anunciada a parceria que está a ser desenvolvida entre o HEI-Lab, a Universidade Lusófona e esta Unidade de Saúde, que tem como objetivo não só dinamizar um conjunto de iniciativas pedagógicas em estreita colaboração com o Mestrado de Neuropsicologia Clínica, mas também desenvolver e implementar um conjunto de projetos de investigação clínica e translacional em articulação com os investigadores e recursos laboratoriais disponíveis no Brain.Edge - Clinical & Translational Neuroscience Lab, situado nas instalações do HEI-Lab no Centro Universitário do Porto.

Esta colaboração coloca o HEI-Lab numa posição estratégica para o desenvolvimento de investigação de alto impacto social na região Norte, através de uma abordagem participativa que combina os recursos técnicos da unidade de investigação com o expertise e conhecimento de campo dos profissionais da Unidade Local de Saúde Tâmega e Sousa. O foco dos primeiros passos desta parceria será explorar biomarcadores de diagnóstico e testar a eficácia de intervenções que recorrem a técnicas de estimulação cognitiva com base em realidade virtual.

Team of researchers in Neuropsychology and Neuroscience from HEI-Lab participates in the Symposium and announces a partnership with the Local Healthcare Unit from Tâmega e Sousa

A team of researchers in the field of Neuropsychology and Neuroscience from HEI-Lab (Andreia Geraldo, Carlos Campos, Rita Pasion, and Tiago Paiva) participated in the Symposium “The contribution of neuropsychology as a complementary diagnostic tool in dementia syndromes”, organised by Dr Helena Moreira, Neuropsychologist at the Local Healthcare Unit of Tâmega e Sousa.

During this event, a partnership was announced between HEI-Lab, Lusófona University, and this Healthcare Unit. The initiative aims not only to promote a set of pedagogical activities in close collaboration with the Master’s in Clinical Neuropsychology, but also to develop and implement a series of clinical and translational research projects in collaboration with researchers and laboratory resources available at the Brain.Edge - Clinical & Translational Neuroscience Lab, located at the HEI-Lab facilities in the Lusófona Porto Campus.

This collaboration positions HEI-Lab strategically for the development of high social impact research in the Northern region of Portugal, through a participatory approach that combines the technical resources of the research unit with the expertise and field knowledge of the professionals from the Local Healthcare Unit of Tâmega e Sousa. The first steps of this partnership will focus on exploring diagnostic biomarkers and testing the effectiveness of interventions using cognitive stimulation techniques based on virtual reality.
