Sara Albuquerque has a master's degree in Clinical and Health Psychology - Sub-area of specialization in Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions in Psychological Health Disorders and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra. She has published several articles in scientific journals and book chapters with focus on grief processes, individual and marital adjustment after the loss of a child, dyadic coping, post-traumatic growth, continuing bonds and, recently, on the impact of the pandemic in the grief processes, both in children and adults. She has the specialization of grief therapy (SPEIL - Portuguese Society for Studies and Intervention in Grief) and has training in Third Generation Therapies with Children, E.M.D.R. and Intervention in Crisis and Trauma (by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation). She is currently the coordinator and a clinical psychologist of the Grief Consultation at the PIN Clinical Center - at all stages of life (in Lisbon), whose action focuses mainly on the assessment and intervention with children, adolescents and adults, in grief by death and chronic illnesses and divorce situations. She is also an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona and gives several workshops on grief and emotional regulation.
