Judite Peixoto
- Integrated PHD Researcher
Judite Peixoto holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of Minho, with
the doctoral thesis entitled “Divorce and Coparental Conflict: From Characterization to
Psychological Intervention with Litigating Parents” (funded by FCT - Portuguese
Foundation for Science and Technology - SFRH/BD/124895/2016). She is a certificate
psychologist by the Portuguese Psychologists Association (Professional Certificate nr.
9535) and she is the co-author of the For2Parents Program - Psychological
intervention for high-conflict separated/divorced parents (registered as a national
trademark at the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property – registration nr. 693965).
She is currently an assistant professor and researcher at Lusófona University in
Lisbon. Her main research topics include: 1) post-divorce coparenting conflict, 2)
visitation resistance, 3) therapeutic justice, 4) integrative psychotherapy, and 5)
practice-oriented research models. She has several national and international scientific
publications in the field of Psychology of Justice and Forensic Psychology. During her
academic and professional career, she works as a forensic expert, clinical-forensic
psychotherapist, trainer, consultant, technical-scientific supervisor and therapist-
researcher, particularly in the areas of divorce and high-coparenting conflict. As
researcher, she has also collaborated in research projects in the areas of Domestic
Violence, Multiple Victimization, Stalking, and Human Trafficking.
