Samuel Domingos

Samuel Domingos has a Ph.D. in Psychology, specialization in Social Psychology. He is a researcher at Hei-Lab: Digital Human-Environment Interaction Labs, and assistant professor at Universidade Lusófona and Universidade de Évora. He is also board member in the Iberian Chapter of the Society for Risk Analysis Europe (SRA-Europe Iberian Chapter). His research interests focus on public risk perceptions of natural and man-made hazards and new and emerging technologies, with a particular interest in risk and crisis communication. Currently, he is working on a Horizon 2020 research and innovation project funded by the European Union. In this project, he is exploring public perceptions and media representations of biobased and biodegradable plastics, including risk perceptions and misconceptions. Recent work also includes research on public perceptions of cybersecurity risks, public risk perceptions of extreme weather events, and longitudinal social media monitoring of systemic risk perceptions and responses during public health crises.
