Inês M. Tavares is an Assistant Professor at Lusófona University, Porto (Portugal). Tavares holds a PhD in Psychology by the Universidade do Porto (Portugal). Tavares is a Registered Clinical Psychologist (Portuguese Board of Psychologists) and a trained clinical sexologist (Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology). She held a prestigious Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at Dalhousie University (Canada) and at the University of British Columbia (Canada), from 2022-2024. Tavares has developed research in the following topics: male and female sexual health, pregnancy and postpartum sexuality, dyadic research, longitudinal research, and experimental sex research. Currently, Tavares is a member of an international consortium on sexual and reproductive health research, supervises Master and Doctoral level students, and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Sexual Medicine and the Journal of Sex Research.
